a lady with dark curly hair and glasses looking thoughtfulMany people think new year’s resolutions require harsh detoxes, strict diets and dramatic changes. The fact is these approaches rarely make it more than a week or so.  For 2026, focus on these small changes you can make to become a healthier you.

  • Add one serving of vegetables each day. Instead of trying to change your entire diet, start small. Be sure to try for a more colorful plate. Add cucumbers or tomatoes to your lunch. Have an extra veggie with dinner. Keep baby carrots handy for snacks.
  • Drink More Water. It doesn’t have to be a large amount. Start with one extra glass. Many people are dehydrated and don’t realize it. Water helps with digestion, energy and more. Add fruits if you don’t like plain water.
  • Choose One Extra “real” food Each Day. Skip one processed food (chips, boxed meals, cookies, etc.) each day in favor of a healthier real food. Instead of chips, try an apple with peanut butter. Instead of boxed cereal, try oatmeal with fruit.
  • Make Sure you have protein, fat and fiber at each meal. The combination of all three keeps your blood sugar stable and your energy at peak.
  • Eat Slowly. We are often in a rush to eat, but eating more slowly helps with digestion, nutrient absorption, and overeating.

Try these small changes for the month of January. You will be surprised the difference in how you feel and how your body functions. If you would like to go deeper, True Light Wellness offers a variety of treatments that can help. Contact us today.
